Welsh Theme

Programming Ideas

Following the theme of Multiculturalism , I have included some of the programming items used with my Joey Scout Mob as a lead up to the State event , our adopted country was Wales .

I would like to thank The Welsh Society of Tasmania for all their help and generosity in lending us Maps , Flags , National Costumes and allowing me to pick their collective brains , I am sure they all felt a little light headed as a result !

I love the Welsh people they are kind , courteous , generous , warm and friendly ( very much like us Tasmanians ! ) . Thankyou all .

 

Wales...

Story  touching on many aspects of the country and its people , with a major focus on Merlin , the flag and the red dragon of Wales

Dragon Stories There are many stories you could choose from here are a couple we have read during Mob meetings

Flag a line drawing of the Welsh flag and a true colour picture of the flag

Games a variety of games to run with your Mob including traditional games

Craft dragon bookmark , individual coats of arms or shields , daffodils , castle

Songs Puff the magic dragon , It's a small world

Information Welsh Nation Anthem (Land of our Fathers)

Welsh emblems , back ground information on the Welsh flag .

Recipies Try cooking yummy welsh cakes or making treacle toffee .
