Dragon Bookmarks ...
materials ..... small Dragon pictures , pipe cleaners , glue , pencils , scissors , cardboard .
take a picture of a dragon , preferably the Dragon from the Welsh flag , colour it in , cut out and glue to cardboard , attach the lower portion of the pipe cleaner to the underside of the Dragon from about 1/2 way , so that about 2/3rds of the pipe cleaner pokes up over the top of the picture . Bend pipe cleaner down behind the dragon to form a hook . This can then be inserted between the pages of a favourite book and the picture will hang over the front of the book .
Coat of Arms ....
materials ..... Large cardboard cutouts in the shape of shields , large picture of the Red Dragon , glue , pencils or similar , wool to hang family crests on the wall , hole punch.
note ... it is easier to have the shields and dragons cut to shape before your Mob meeting
Have Joeys colour in their dragons these should be red , glue the dragons to the shields . Next the Joey Scouts will decorate their shields as a coat of arms . Have a few different coats of arms or family crests for them to look at before they start to give them ideas . Take the hole punch and place a hole either side at the top of the shield , attach wool . These can easily be turned into Shields by attaching a handle to the back
Castle ....
materials ....... cardboard boxes and cylinders of all shapes and sizes , icypole sticks , bottle tops , string , landscaping items etc , large sheet of masonite or thick cardboard to build castle on .
Make this a Mob project and allow both your own and the Joeys imagination to take over and build a castle together , have pictures of castles close by to draw ideas from
Daffodils ....
materials ......... star shaped yellow paper cutouts , rectangular shaped orange cutouts , wooden tongue depressor or icy pole sticks , glue .
The star shaped paper is the daffodil petals while the rectangular piece becomes the trumpet . The trumpet piece will need to have small slits cut into the bottom these are bent outwards and glued to the star shaped paper after the trumpet shape has been rolled and stapled to form a small cylinder , attach the stick with glue to complete your daffodil . A very easy craft which looks quite effective .
