Opening Parade ….. Joey Promise and Law , Joey Hop

Game : Obstacle Course "NEWSPAPER DELIVERY"
equipment …. Rolled up news papers ….. obstacles

Have Joey Scouts pretend to be newspaper deliverers, carrying their rolled up newspapers they must navigate their way through a series of obstacles the last of which is to toss their newspaper either into a bin or through a hoop then run back to tag the next player on their team.

Talk : MEANS OF COMMUNICATION
discuss the many ways that people can communicate with each other and how some forms of communication have changed from those in days gone by.

Role Play …BODY LANGUAGE & MIME

1:Have a series of cards with either written or pictorial images of different emotions for the Joey Scouts to role play.

2:Talk about body language and how this is also a means of communication, demonstrate several different forms of body language see if your Joey Scouts can guess what you are trying to tell them and then see if they can demonstrate feelings through body language.

 Game : "MAIL MIX UP"
equipment: several addressed envelopes cut into 3 or 4 pieces

Teams of 2-4 Joey Scouts are given 3-4 addressed envelopes (they can all have the same address written on them use different styles of writing and coloured pens depending on the ages of the Joey Scouts. The mail man had an accident and all of the mail was torn up, it must be sorted and taped back together in order that the mail can be delivered to the right people.

Activity …. WRITING LETTERS

Write letter to another Joey Scout Mob or the Cub pack etc
