SOAP SHAPES
The trick with this craft is to have everything you need layed out and organised so you can move from stage to stage relatively quickly .

It is important to use pure glycerine soaps or the craft will not be successful

If using unscented soap you can add a couple of drops of pure essential oil after melting the soap in the microwave

If your soap refuses to leave the mold , try putting it in the freezer for 5 minutes , you can also wipe or spray some oil over the molds prior to pouring in the soap mixture ,
this will help stop them sticking.

Some stages of this craft are not suitable for the children as they may burn or cut themselves , supervision is required .

Equipment

glycerine soap in lots of colours

molds , chocolate molds work well

pure essential oils ( optional)

microwave oven

microwave safe cups

spoons and/or wooden icy pole sticks

a sharp knife

What to do

1. Set out everything you need before starting

2. Cut bars of soap into about three pieces. (cut smaller peices if you intend mixing colours).

3. Put a piece of cut soap into a cup , place in microwave and melt on high for about 10 seconds on high (YES SECONDS !!) It may take a bit longer in low-wattage microwaves.
If it doesn't start to liquify in around 15 seconds or it starts to bubble, you may not have a pure glycerin soap bar.

4. Once melted , stir it to mix thoroughly and pour melted soap into molds.

6. Wait about 5 minutes for it to harden and cool , before removing from molds

Put soap in gift bags , tie off with curling ribbon , add a gift tag made from light natural card board or corrugated cardboard and your done !
