PIRATE THEME
SLEEP OVER PROGRAM

Sleepover Programme 16/17/06/2001

THEME: PIRATES
1st EDMUNTON JOEY MOB

Programme

03.00pm Arrive at Pirates Cove

03.15pm Captains Mast : Rules of the Ship

03.20pm Pirate Press Gang( game : a nominated pirate chases the Joey scouts to press gang them to become pirates as each Joey becomes a pirate they then help to press gang other Joeys to become pirates.) requirements: nil

03.35pm Swab The Decks: decorate the pirate ships using paints etc. Split the mob into two teams these will remain for the sleepover. The Joeys can name their ships. Requirements: 2 cardboard boxes paints spray bottles Brushes Craft Knives.

04.15pm SNACK

04.20pm A Stitch in time: Joeys stitch together a treasure bag for them to store their treasure. Requirements: Fabric shapes, bodkins thread and string for tying up.

04.40pm Treasure Hunt: Joeys follow the map and find the clues telling them where the treasure is hidden the treasure is then divided amongst the pirates with all receiving a even share. Requirements Maps and treasure, treasure chest

04.50pm Ship Escape The pirates have to escape from their ships. To do so they must crawl along the ground while holding on to the pirate in front of them by the ankles. Forming a long chain the pirates must cover the distance to the marker without anyone letting go of the other pirates ankle. If there is a break in the chain the line stops until all are linked again then they can continue to the marker (can be made to return in the same way).Requirements: markers

05.00pm Polly wants a cracker: Make a balancing parrot also Shower time send 2 pirates at a time to have a shower while the other pirates are waiting they colour their parrots and cut them out adding the washer to make them balance. Requirements: 2 copies of parrot per pirate 1 washer per pirate Pva glue; (keep pirates moving thorough showers)

07.20pm Pirates bonfire: set a campfire singsongs appropriate to pirate theme

08.10pm Pirate quiz: Memory game using premade memory cards. Requirements Memory cards 1 set per 4 pirates

08.25pm Eye Patches: Pirates to make a eye patch from cardboard and elastic (can have a hole to let them see so they can participate with out removing the patch) Requirements: Cardboard Black, Elastic, staplers, scissors and pencils.

08.35pm Supper

08.45pm Brush teeth

08.55pm Story

09.15pm Lights out

07.15am All Hands on Deck

08.00am Pirates Pledge

08.10am Pirates Hats make a hat from paper for your costume . Requirements newspaper

08.30am Walk the Plank Pillow sword fight pirates fight on a plank using pillows to knock the other pirate off the plank. Requirements: plank placed on bricks to lift it slightly off the ground 2 mattresses one either side of the plank so they can not hurt themselves. A pillow per pirate.

09.00am pirate pirate pete a version of duck duck goose. Requirements nil

09.10am pirates tailors Make a costume. Make a pirates costume to go with your hat and eyepatch for a parade and battle later.requirements newspaper tape staplers glue etc

09.30am Fashion Parade display your costume for the leaders. requirements Nil

09.40am stow your gear (pack your gear up and pack it near the roller door)

10.00am Morning Tea

10.15am Ship Attack sink the pirate ship using Ballistas aim and fire cannonballs at the other pirate ship the most hits win and the ship is sunk. Requirements Ballistas and paper cannon balls.

10.45am clean up

11.00pm Closing Parade
