Every time you come to
Joey's we will have opening and closing parade,
this is a time when we try hard to be quiet
and listen to what the leaders are saying to us
Parade will only last for
a few minutes .
At each opening parade we
break and salute the Australian flag
Then comes our special 'Joey Hop' after this we might talk about
any special news the Joey Scouts may like to share .
and what we will be doing that night
We also sing some Joey songs ,
the words and tunes to these songs are very easy ,
below are the words to some songs you might hear
At Closing Parade we will furl the Australian Flag ,
(Furl means to take it down the flag pole )
and we will say (or sing) a prayer .
The 1st song is our
" Joey hop "
We all put our Kangaroo
paws up and hop towards each other,
with a hop for each word , we shout
We're all Joey Joey Scouts !
-then hopping away from
each other , spell loudly-
'J'.........'O'..........'E'........'Y'
next , jumping in the air
raising one arm high SHOUT VERY LOUDLY
JOEY SCOUTS!!! *Next we might do our
Snake
Taking hold of the Joey in
front of you we move as one ,
twisting and turning like the coils of a giant snake and singing very
loudly ,
by the time we finish singing the snake song 4 times
we have moved all around the hall and try to finish back where we
started .
The tune is " Hi Ho , Hi Ho , it's off to work we go"
