In November 1998 Tasmanian Joey Scouts participated in a State Event ,
the theme of the event was Multiculturalism .

 200 Joey Scouts along with around 100 siblings and their parents
visited different countries learning more about the wealth of culture
and history the world has to offer .

 Each district prepared displays to represent their adopted country ,
offering windows of discovery into history , culture , food ,
lifestyles , costumes even mythology and fantasy

 7 Countries were represented on the day these were ;

Canada

Holland

Wales

Vietnam

Vanuatu

Chile

Papua
New Guinea

Everyone had a fantastic day participating in various activities ,
games , stories and craft

We went fishing in Chile , made windmills in Holland ,
tried dancing in Vanuatu made hats in Vietnam ,
saw dragons and coal mines in Wales ,
explored igloos and wore snow shoes in Canada ,
made clay bowls in Papua New Guinea , and more !!

In Vanuatu , wearing our reed (paper) hats and making a Lei out of paper flowers threaded onto string .Fishing in Chile !Hop Scotch with Merlin .... Amazingly , we used sticks not chalk !!!About to explore a Welsh coal mine
