Joey Scouts are the
youngest members of the Scouting family , they are boys and girls
aged between 6 and 8 years .
Like all 6-8 year olds , Joey Scouts have boundless energy , an
infinite curiosity and a desire for adventure ,
Scouts offers them an outlet for this and more .

Joey Mob meetings are held once a week in the school term
for the duration of around one hour ,
they are filled with fun , friendship , games , stories , activities,
songs and craft .
It also includes regular family outings and activities with other
Sections and Groups in the Scouting family .
HOP INTO ADVENTURE !
Programming for Joey
Scouts often will follow a theme . The themes used are infinitely
varied .
One week we could be pirates exploring the 7 seas , making ships out
of cardboard boxes
finding ourselves swabbing the decks and walking the plank or wearing
eye patches while we search for buried treasure ,
the following week may take us on a voyage of discovery into the
wonders of outer space , riding rockets , meeting aliens .
We might run away and join the circus for a few weeks , become
knights and princesses , meet bunyips and dragons ,
visit Antarctica , go time traveling , find out about lightning or
sharks , there is no end to what a Joey Scout can do or become .
The program provides not only a learning experience but also
friendships and of course FUN ! !
The philosophy of Joey Scouts is to care , share and help others .
This is reinforced through a carefully prepared program of games
activities and craft .
HOW IS THE PROGRAM

The Joey Scout
Program uses stories ,
craft , and games ( both active and quiet )
to stimulate the Joey Scout's mind and imagination .
Having fun while learning about themselves , others and the world
around them ,
the Joey Scouts follow a theme over several meetings .
The programs are developed and run by trained Scout Leaders
with the aim of keeping them simple and flexible to meet the needs of
each Joey Scout .
Ceremonies and formality are a part of the program but they are kept
to a minimum .
Basic disciple is maintained to ensure all members of the Joey Scout
Mob enjoy themselves .
