Kanga Craft

Try making 'good deed' Kangaroos

equipment ... cardboard , scissors , glue , roo stencil , wool or string , colouring pencils .

Take a picture of a Kangaroo minus its tail and trace it onto cardboard before cutting out the shape . Punch a hole through the cardboard cutout where the tail should join the body . Attach the string to the Kangaroo for its tail . Decorate the Kangaroo with pencils , textas or with small pieces of paper as with a mosaic .

Each week as the Joey Scouts tell of good deeds they have done or when they show themselves to be true Joey Scouts by examples of caring sharing good manners and helpfulness during Mob meetings , get them to tie a knot in the tail of their 'Good Deed Roo' . This gives the Joey Scouts a visual reminder , a source of pride in their behaviour and allows them to exercise fine motor skills in knot tying .
